Coyote (Navajo: mąʼii) is the Navajo or Diné trickster god. An irresponsible and trouble-making character, Coyote is one of the most important and revered characters in Diné Bahaneʼ, "Story of the People", aka Navajo mythology. Coyote's ceremonial name is Áłtsé hashké which means "first scolder".
